Agree 100%!!! I was talking about our 2 local BK's. After calling and confirming all of this information I was very disappointed to take a quick trip into town with my hubby. We decided to give the fries a try and bring home some goodies for the kids. The one person in our family who is confirmed CD is myself. Guess who had an onion ring in her fries. Needless to say, I will be asking for fresh fries right out of the fryer next time. When I worked at McD's that is what we had to do for salt free fries. They basically dump them directly into the fry carton so no cross contamination. Let's just say that day at BK was very crappy service. They messed up everything in our order and that does not usually happen. I did manage to get a burger without a bun but they only gave me a meat patty. I will try to communicate better next time I have a french fry craving.

Just be careful: not all BKs have separate friers. Even if they do, there's no guarantee the workers keep them as such. Most BKS warm their fries and rings in the same metal bin with just a divider between them. Onion rings can and do get past that divider and cc the fries. :-(

Sorry! Thank you for pointing that out. I added it on top of the layers before the roux. I edited the recipe to reflect this change.

This recipe is such an easy place to start. I am glad you were able to incorporate it with what you had on hand. I have not made this recipe in so long I think I might have to whip some up tonight. YUM YUM!!
